시는 2022년 12월 도시지역 빈집정비계획을 수립해 올해부터 빈집정비 지원사업을 본격적으로 추진하고 있다.

시는 빈집 소유자에게 철거 정비 예산을 지원, 빈집밀집구역으로 지정 고시된 활천동 일대 빈집 3곳을 일제 정비해 3년 동안 인근 주민들이 무상으로 주차 공간을 이용할 수 있도록 했다.

시는 주차장 시설을 추가 보완해 내년부터 마을 공용 주차장으로 사용한다.
