[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍태용 김해시장은 17일 김해시청 대회의실에서 2023년 아동학대예방의 날 기념행사를 개최하고, 25일까지 일주일 간 아동학대예방주간을 운영한다. 

11월 19일은 세계 아동학대예방의 날로 우리나라는 2007년부터 기념식을 개최하고 있으며 2012년부터 법정기념일로 지정됐다.

행사는 김해시 주최로 진행됐으며, 김해시아동보호전문기관 주관으로 1부 기념식에는 홍태용 시장을 비롯해 도·시의원, 유관기관·단체장 등 300여명이 참석한 가운데 아동학대 예방과 피해아동 보호를 위해 기여한 유공자 12명을 표창하고 격려했다. 

특히 아동권리헌장 낭독과 아동학대 근절‧추방 결의식을 열어 아동학대 예방에 대한 시민들의 관심을 높이고 아동이 안전하고 행복한 희망찬 미래도시 김해를 위해 모두가 함께 힘을 모으기로 했다.

홍태용 시장은 “아동들은 존재 자체만으로 소중하며 아동을 보호하고 지키는 것은 우리 모두의 사회적 책임이다”며 “사각지대에 방치된 아동을 찾아내고 아동학대가 반복되지 않도록 아동학대예방·근절에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
